A C-141 Mouse Pointer for Windows
A few weeks ago, Geno Carvotta, a former 141 FE from
McGuire sent me a C-141 mouse pointer. The problem was
it was an ICON file, and I could not figure out how to
turn into a mouse cursor (.CUR) file. Maybe there's a
way, but I couldn't figure it out after about a hour of
trying.
Geno inspired me and not wanting to give up on the
idea, I created a new one with some freebee software I
found on the internet. Here's the results on my
desktop, with a photo I use for my wallpaper. (By the
way, that lighting is from a big storm we had down here
in Tucson this summer (2004) and is just about
dead-center over Davis-Monthan.) Now we all know that
no C-141 would ever fly through a thunderstorm like
that, but sometimes while I'm on hold on the phone, I
fly that little guy right through it and emerge on the
other side without a scratch!
You can download (the old: right-click-save-as routine) the file from this link and place it in your Windows/Cursors directory, then adjust the settings via your control panel to use this mouse instead of the boring arrow Microsoft provides. If you'd rather have a black version you can download this one instead. I use the white one since my screen background is dark and it shows up better.
