C-141 Tail Number: 66-7947
66-7947 was the first C-141 assigned to the 438th MAW at McGuire.
The pictures below of the arrival of the Garden State Starlifter on 8 Aug 1967
were provided to me by 305th AMW Wing Historian, McGquire AFB,NJ .
I was an Airman 3rd class at the time and was standing in a military
formation for the official arrival ceremony of the aircraft. It did not
mean much to me 37 years ago, but today it means the world to me.
Like so many others the Air Force and the C-141 gave the start in
life for a career in aviation. I worked this airframe for 36 years,
retiring Jan 03 2004.
